Mary Lee Brady, Ph.D.

Lizzie Adkins, we suspect was the mother of Mary Morris and slave of John T. Morris, born abt. 1839.   The 1880 census reflects that Mary Morris was listed as a black servant in the Morris household that included a family member named Edger (born in 1875) giving further speculation that said person was likely a patron or boyhood friend of Luther Atkins (born in 1879) who gave his first-born son (born abt 1898) the said name.  The Morris family apparently were owners of one or more Adkins offspring of Fannie Adkins.
