| Our view is that Jackie Robinson, son of Jerry and Mallie Robinson of Georgia may have been the grandson of Mack Robinson born in 1876. Our view is that it was common for men to name their first-born after the applicable male or female. Jackie Robinson's older brother was named Mack and supports our hypothesis that Mack Robinson born in 1876 could have fathered Jerry Robinson by 1896 who would have been of age to father Jackie Robinson in 1919. We do not know for certain but believe all men and women born during and after slavery were seekers of knowledge about themselves and their loved ones. |
