| We believe Polly Lee was identified in the 1880 census as living in Roanoke, Virginia with her grandson James Lee and she was likely the grand-daughter of Frank and Lucy Lee. She is listed as living and registered as a free colored adult in the 1810 Virginia census for said purpose, and indicating that she almost certainly was working as an indentured servant in Petersburg since by law she could not remain free in Virginia unless indentured.
