Charlotte Robinson born around 1810 is an example of slave trade effects and after-affects of the peculiar institution. Indicators are that her offspring born after puberty and before her emancipation from slavery were likely dead or sold away from her. It is possible that after emancipation, she adopted or gave birth to two additional offspring identified in the 1880 census. |
